I’m Jeremy Fontenot, a former Oil & Gas professional with over 20 years of experience, who transitioned to a rewarding career in IT. Throughout my career in the Oil & Gas industry, I held diverse roles, including Derrickman, NDT Level 2 Technician, I&E Supervisor, and Lead Production Operator. While working in this field, I developed a love for technology, often spending my free time fixing broken computers, repairing cell phones, and customizing devices through rooting and jailbreaking.
Recognizing the cyclical instability of the Oil & Gas industry in South Louisiana, I decided to pursue a more stable and fulfilling career in technology. With the support of my wife, I returned to school at Remington College, where I earned an Associate’s degree in Database Administration in 2021, graduating with honors and a GPA of 3.84. I later continued my education in Information Security and Administration at My Computer Career, achieving a 4.0 GPA and earning the prestigious WCITP World Class IT Professional Award.
Since entering the IT field, I’ve worked on setting up servers and Active Directory for a local startup, gaining hands-on experience in system administration and network infrastructure. My goal is to combine my technical skills, passion for problem-solving, and drive for continuous learning to help organizations thrive in a technology-driven world.
